This programme is designed to introduce you to exercising with dumbbells. Incorporating strength work into your exercise routine is essential for healthy bones and great for your metabolism, but it's really important to get your technique right when using weights to prevent injury. To get going, you'll need 2 x 0.5kg dumbbell (or home equivalent - water bottles, tins of beans) and an exercise mat or suitable floor space for lying down exercises. You can increase the weight once you've mastered the technique and are ready to progress.
